2nd Annual “Southport Arts MAY-nia”
Scheduled for May 22 & 23, 2026
Downtown Southport Inc. (DSI) announced the second annual “Southport Arts MAY-nia” to be held on Friday, May 22 and Saturday, May 23 from 9 am to 3 pm both days. This free event will be held on the Brunswick Community College ARTS Lawn at 701 N. Lord Street in downtown Southport.
Southport Arts MAY-nia is a community-focused event that will include around 100 Arts & Craft Vendors, along with featured demonstrations by well-known art instructors and students. The Southport Garden Club is planning a plant and herb sale, the Caswell Avenue Community Garden will offer educational information and tours of the garden and the Southport Unity Committee and Southport Historical Society will add some special events to this once-a-year event. Cape Fear Radio is providing a live remote and music for all to enjoy. The entire event is free to the public.
Randy Jones, DSI president said the organization received a huge amount of positive feedback from attendees last year. “This event focuses on all areas of the creative arts thus showcasing painting to pottery to music to photography to metals, etc. It is such a wonderful collaboration between all these downtown Southport organizations, the College and all the artists,” said Jones.
Last year’s Southport Arts MAY-nia drew people from all around the county and region. Presented by Downtown Southport Inc. and Brunswick Community College, it is also a collaboration with Southport Garden Club, Southport Historical Society, Southport Unity Committee, Caswell Avenue Community Gardens and Cape Fear Radio.
