History of 616 Arabella Lane, the Rudnick House
Description
One of the newest residences on this year’s tour, this thoughtfully designed home brings a fresh perspective while honoring timeless architectural traditions. Built just three years ago, it features an open interior with high ceilings, wide moldings, and clean architectural lines inspired by the Shaker simplicity found in classic New England farmhouses.
The owners intentionally wove elements of their former New England farm homes into the design, creating a space that feels contemporary yet deeply rooted in their personal history. Artwork throughout the home is original, with many pieces created by family members and close friends, which adds a warm, personal dimension.
The only significant change made since construction is located in the upstairs guest suite, where built-in ship berths have been added, lending a touch of coastal charm and a nod to Southport’s maritime setting.
Though newly built, the home reflects a lifetime of influences, experiences, and aesthetic choices, blending New England heritage with Southport ease.
